Over 1,800 residents in Camaligan, CamSur get emergency shelter assistance
More than 1,800 individuals from 13 barangays in Camaligan town have received their Emergency Shelter Assistance (ESA) from the national government.
CamSur Governor Miguel Villafuerte led the distribution last April 5. The ESA is an assistance program from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
“A total of 1,832 beneficiaries from the 13 barangays of Camaligan, Camarines Sur gathered on 05 April 2018 for the Emergency Shelter Assistance (ESA) distribution by the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD),” the provincial government said.
One of the beneficiaries Alma Estefani Lucena, said that her house was damaged by typhoon and her children experience trauma because of the calamity.
“As one of the indigent people here in Camaligan, I really had a hard time dealing with the destruction brought by the typhoon. Our house was left damaged and my children got phobias because of the calamity,” said Estefani.
She said that the financial assistance is a big help for their house.
“I thank the provincial government especially the responders who rescued and remind us to evacuate during the typhoon. Most especially, I thank Gov. Migz. This is a big help to my family and I will use this for the renovation of our house,” she said
Meanwhile, a medical mission was also conducted simultaneously by the Provincial Health Office during the distribution.
