Qualified beneficiaries of the Oriental Mindoro’s Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) have formally begun their summer job at the Provincial Capitol today.

The province said that more than 300 beneficiaries started their 27-day summer job today with an orientation from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

“Ganap na ika-walo ng umaga ngayong araw, tinipon ng mga kawani ng Education and Employment Services Division (EESD), Office of the Governor ang mahigit sa 300 kwalipikadong benepisyaryo ng Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan kasabay ng ginanap na SPES orientation sa Bulwagang Panlalawigan sa Kapitolyo,” said the province.

DOLE representative Ramezes Torres and EESD Chief Antonio Magnaye Jr. explained during the orientation how the program works and the annual budget earmarked for the project.

The said program aims to let out-of-school youth experience how it feels to work and earn money so that they might be convinced to go back to school and finish their studies.

After the orientation, the SPES beneficiaries were deployed to the departments at the Capitol where they would work.

The SPES is a program of the DOLE and the Oriental Mindoro provincial government under the EESD-Office of the Governor.
