PDEA raids dormitory, kills Ex-Matnog administrator
A former administrator of Matnog town in Sorsogon was killed in an anti-drug operation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency over the weekend.
Edgar Gardon died from gunshot wounds in different parts of the body during the operation in Balay Dormitoryo along Monreal St. in Talisay, Sorsogon City.
Gardon served as the municipal administrator of former Mayors Emilio Ubaldo and Guillermo So.
Police said he resisted arrest when PDEA and police operatives served a search warrant on his quarters in the dormitory (http://bicoltoday.com/2018/03/11/dating-administrator-ng-matnog-sorsogon-patay-sa-operasyon-ng-pdea/).
Initial investigation showed Gardon closed the door of his quarters and fired a shot when authorities serving the search warrant knocked on the door.
This triggered a supposed shootout where Gardon was killed.
PDEA said Gardon had been under surveillance for more than a month, after authorities received information he was involved in the illegal drug trade.
