Brownouts will be a thing of the past in Paluan town in Occidental Mindoro with the entry of the Solar Philippines in the said municipality.

Senator Loren Legarda and her son Solar Philippines founder Leandro Leviste visited the province yesterday for the inauguration of a solar power plant in Paluan.

Because of the excess power supply, the solar power plant could also provide electricity in Mamburao town.

The project was launched with the help of Cong Josephine Ramirez-Sato Gov. Gene Jaro Mendiola, Sanguniang Panlalawigan and the local government of Paluan.

Solar Philippines has earmarked P100 million for the said powerplant.
