CamSur boosts sports program to turn youth away from drugs, vices
To turn youth away from illegal drugs and other vices, the province of Camarines Sur strengthens its sports program with the help of other stakeholders.
Camarines Sur. Governor Miguel Villafuerte said that as a sports enthusiast himself, he knows that sports will help the youth to become a better person.
Because of this, Villafuerte makes sure that his administration also prioritizes sports and development programs.
“We just recently hosted the Gov Migz Billiards Cup 2018 at CWC. As a sports enthusiast myself and as acknowledgment of the vital role sports play in keeping our youth away from drugs and other vices, we make sports programs our priorities,” said Governor Villafuerte.
The province also has the Camarines Sur Sports Academy where children are being trained at a young age to hone their skills.
The said academy was built to further improve the sports program of the province and to produce globally competitive athletes.
“Aside from the Camsur Sports Academy where we sponsor and train athletes in boxing, swimming, and athletics, we host sporting events such as the Billiards Cup and Basketball Cup, and support student-athletes thru partnerships with the Department of Education,” said Gov. Villafuerte.
