Palawan Gov. Alvarez seeks support of Landbank for his livelihood projects

Palawan Governor Jose Ch. Alvarez recently met with the officials of the Land Bank of the Philippines to bolster his livelihood programs through the support of the said bank.

Gov. Alvarez held a meeting with Landbank chief executive officer Alex V. Buenaventura to discuss several projects of the provincial government, particularly the livestock raising.

“Layon ng naturang pagpupulong na makuha ang suporta ng naturang bangko sa mga programang pangkabuhayan na ipapatupad ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan partikular ang livestock raising at pagtatanim ng Hybrid Napier Grass bilang pakain sa mga aalagaang hayop,” the province said.

These projects, according to the provincial government, aim to alleviate the poverty incidence in Palawan.

Governor Alvarez assured the Landbank for the positive results of thr program as it will be undertaken primarily by the provincial government.

“Sa pamamagitan ng isang Audio-Video Presentation ay inilahad ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ang mga programang pangkabuhayan na kasalukuyang ipinapatupad sa lalawigan,” said the province.

Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Ninfa Rubio also presented the process and the system of the implementation of Direct Poverty Alleviation Program of the provincial government to identify the beneficiaries of the project, paricularly the Indigenous Peoples .

“Ayon kay PPDC Rubio, umabot na 62,178 kabahayan mula sa 112 barangay ang sumailalim sa survey kaugnay ng Indigenous People o IP Profiling na kasalukuyan nilang isinasagawa sa bahaging sur ng lalawigan. Ito ay mula sa mga bayan ng Brooke’s Point, Bataraza, Rizal, Quezon, Sofronio Española, Narra at Aborlan,” the province said.

“Pagkatapos ng pagpupulong ay nagtungo sa bayan ng Bataraza sina Gob. Alvarez kasama ang pamunuan ng Land Bank at ilang kinatawan ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan upang bisitahin ang mga nabuong people’s organization kaugnay ng pagpapatupad ng programang pangkabuhayan,” it added.
