CamSur augmentation team in Albay hailed for ‘selfless service’ to fellow Bicolanos
The Province of Camarines Sur has welcomed back home the augmentation team sent to Albay to adopt evacuation centers and help those who fled because of Mayon eruption.
The Team CamSur stayed in Guinobatan, Albay for 14 days to provide assistance to two evacuation camps, which house more than 3,000 evacuees.
The provincial government hailed the augmentation team for their “selfless service” for their fellow Bicolanos.
“Welcome back home, Team CamSur!!! Thank you for your 14 days of selfless service for the evacuees of Guinobatan, Albay! We are proud of you! ❤️,” the province said.
The team sent to Albay was composed of doctors, nurses, policemen, firemen, psychosocial therapists, and even a cultural group to entertain evacuees.
They also brought ambulances, lorry trucks, trucks for firewoods, trucks for relief goods, a rescue truck.
CamSur Gov. Miguel Villafuerte earlier said that their goal is to “uplift lives and enhance resilience” of their fellow Bicolanos.
The governor made the vowed of adopting evacuation center during the visit of President Rodrigo Duterte in Albay.
During their service in Albay, the Team CamSur built cooking and bath areas in the evacuation centers and conduct psychosocial activities, among others, for the evacuees.
