Palawan gov’t finishes post-disaster assesment in Balacbac town; focuses now on rehabilitation

The Provincial Government of Palawan has completed its eight-day Post Disaster Assessment and Needs Analysis (PDANA) in Balacbac town, one of the places heavily devastated by storm Vinta.

“Natapos na ang walong araw na Post Disaster Assessment and Needs Analysis (PDANA) na isinagawa sa bayan ng Balabac na sinimulan noong ika-28 ng Enero, taong kasalukuyan,” the province said.

“Tinutukan sa operasyon ng PDANA ang mga proyektong imprastraktura na dapat ayusin sa Balabac gayundin ang pagbibigay ng mga hanapbuhay sa mga naapektuhan ng paghagupit ng bagyong Vinta sa lalawigan,” it added.

After the assessment, the provincial government will now focus on the rebuilding of damaged houses and infrasctructure in Balacbac.

The PDANA group that conducted the assesment was composed of employees from Provincial Health Office, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Provincial Engineering Office, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Department of Social Welfare and Development-Palawan Field Office and officials from Provincial at Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of El Nido, Sofronio Española, Brooke’s Point, and Linapacan.

“Inaasahang sa mga susunod na mga linggo ay sisimulan na ang pagtatayo ng mga nasirang kabahayan at iba pang mga istraktura sa Balabac,” the province sais.

Cruzalde B. Ablaña, chief of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), donations from private sectors will be used for the rehabilitation of Balacbac.
