Feb-ibig! Calapan recognizes longest married couple in the city

Love is truly in the air.

Just in time for the love month, the City Government of Calapan has recognized the longest married couples in the city.

The awarding ceremony was held yesterday, February 5, as part of the Marriage Week – Celebrating Commitment of the city government.

“Bilang pagkilala at pagbibigay pugay sa may mga pinakamahabang taong pagsasama bilang mag-asawa, isinagawa ang awarding for the longest married couple sa dalawang pareha na pawang mga taga lungsod ng Calapan bilang bahagi ng Marriage Week – Celebrating Commitment, Pebrero 5, taong kasalukuyan,” the city said.

Two couples were recognized by the city government of Calapan. Each couple received certificate of achievement and a cash prize.

“Sina Tatay Juan M. Mendoza, 95 taong gulang at Nanay Aurelia T. Mendoza, 88 na naninirahan sa Barangay Puting Tubig ay biniyayaan ng 67 taon at walong buwang pagsasama bilang mag-asawa na puno ng pagmamahalan at paggalang sa bawat isa. Sila ay pinagkalooban ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng halagang pitong libong piso (P7,000.00) at certificate of achievement,” the city said.

“Gayun din sina Tatay Florenciano E. Ada, 90 at Nanay Potenciana V. Ada, 89 ng Barangay Salong ay pinagkalooban rin ng halagang tatlong libong piso (P3,000.00) at certificate of achievement bilang pangalawa sa may pinakamahabang pagsasama bilang legal na mag-asawa,” it added.

Present during the awarding ceremony were Calapan City Vice Mayor Gil Ramirez, Councilor Fay Ilano, SP Commitee Chair on Women, Children and Family, Councilor Lorybelle Tanyag- Panaligan, Hon. Mylene de Jesus, and Hon. Rafael Panaligan, Jr.
