Tapat Dapat! Albay Gov. Bichara seeks transparency on donations received by the province
Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara wants transparency over donations and financial aid received by his province due to the eruption of Mayon Volcano.
In line with this, the province said that as of January 31, Albay has received a total of P77,004,000 financial aid.
Of the total amount, P70 million came from the Office of the President, P5 million from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, P2 million from the Department of Health Region 5 and P4,000 from private donors.
“In response to Governor Al Francis Bichara’s orders to be transparent in all items and donations received for the on-going Mayon Operations 2018, an update is being posted for the information of everyone,” the Albay Public Information Office said in its official Facebook page.
“We will be posting a report on how the funds were utilized up to the single centavo for the benefit of all evacuees,” it added.
Meanwhile, the Albay provincial government of Albay expressed its “endless gratitude to everyone who helped in whatever form to address the needs of 84,491 evacuees.”
Other local government units across the country such as Province of Isabela, Davao City and Taguig City also extended help to the Albay province.
Alert Level 4 remains in effect over Mayon Volcano.
