CamSur augmentation team builds cooking, bath areas for Albay evacuees
The Team Camarines Sur that adopted two evacuation centers in Albay has built cooking and bath areas for the residents forced to flee their homes due to Mayon eruption.
Governor Miguel Villafuerte earlier send a team in Albay which will stay there for 14 days to help the evacuees.
“I won’t go away now, cook and more savings to spend. Thank you very much, team camsur!” said Mary Ann Morta, an evacuees from Brgy. Masaragwa, Albay was quoted as saying.
“As a part of the team camsur activities for Albay, a cooking area and bathing area was constructed for the evacuees. #Camsurcares,” Governor Villafuerte said
Moreover, Villafuerte said that psychosocial activities such as story-telling, coloring, and games for the kids at the Mauraro evacuation center in Guinobatan, Albay were also held.
Evacuees, particulary children, in the adopted camps of Team Camsur were likewise taught proper handwashing today.
The CamSur’s augmentation team is composed of doctors, nurses, policemen, firemen, psychosocial therapists, and cultural group to entertain evacuees.
The team also brought 2 ambulances, 3 lorry trucks, 2 trucks for firewoods, 2 trucks for relief goods and 1 rescue truck.
The CamSur team took two evacuation centers, the Mauraro Elementary School and Mauraro High School for at least two weeks.
The said evacuation centers house over 3,000 individuals who fled their homes following the Mayon eruption.
Villafuerte earlier said that their goal is to “uplift lives and enhance resilience” of their fellow Bicolanos.
