Calapan Mayor Panaligan inspects construction of new Central Police Station

Calapan City Mayor Arnan C. Panaligan has inspected the ongoing construction of a two-storey Central Police Station in his city.

The new Central Police Station is being constructed in a lot donated by the city government to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

“City Mayor Arnan C. Panaligan visited the construction site of the new City Central Police Station. The City Police headquarters is being constructed in a lot within the City Hall Complex donated by the City Government to the Philippine National Police,” the city said.

“The funding for the project was provided entirely by the PNP,” it added.

New Chief of Police

Meanwhile, in a separate but related development, the City of Calapan has new Chief of Police in the person of Police Supt Efraim A. Camara.

Former Chief of Police of Calapan City Police Supt Jonathan P. Paguio turned over the command last January 31.

The turn over ceremony was presided over by Police Supt Jaycees DS Tolentino, Deputy Provincial Police Director for Administration and witnessed by City Mayor Arnan C. Panaligan.

Supt Camara graduated from the Philippine National Police Academy Class 2004 and currently commanding officer of the PNP Mobile Group. He also gained experience as Chief of Police of the towns of Pinamalayan, Naujan and Socorro.

:Supt Paguio initiated an aggressive anti-drug campaign that led to the arrest of numerous drug traffickers including some barangay officials. During his tenure, Calapan City Police Office was adjudged as Best Police Office,” said Panaligan.

“It was also during his tenure that the construction of a new 2 storey headquarters for the city police at the City Hall Complex began,” he added.
