May limit ang birit! Calapan City hall personnel reprimand bars that allow videokes, live bands after 10 pm
Calapan, Oriental Mindoro is serious about its ordinance prohibiting lung-busting song numbers and loud music after 10 pm.
The Facebook page of city mayor Arnan Panaligan reminded establishments of City Ordinance No. 13, which was patterned after a similar measure in Davao City.
The personnel of Calapan’s City Public Safety Department visited bars to enforce compliance with the ordinance, which restricts the operation of videokes, live bands, acoustics and other sound amplifying devices to up to 10 p.m. only.
One establishment was issued a ticket as a first offender for operating videoke machines past the prescribed time.
Friendly reminder: you can sing your hearts out in Calapan, but you also have to let other people get a good night’s sleep.
