DPWH completes two infra projects in Catanduanes worth over P876M
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) successfully completed two big ticket infrastructure projects in Catanduanes worth more than P867 million.
The improvement of 5.3-kilometer Viga-Bagamanoc Section and 16.2-kilometer Bacak-Minaile Section were completed last year, amounting to P284.2 million and P583.6 million, respectively.
The two projects along Catanduanes Circumferential Road were under the flagship infrastructure program of the Duterte administration known as the “Build, Build, Build” program.
Director Virgilio C. Castillo of DPWH-Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Roads Management Cluster I said both contracts involve paving of road, reconstruction of bridge, with drainage and slope protection component.
The same Cluster is also implementing the improvement at the Minaile-Pandan Section of Catanduanes Circumferential Road which is now 50% completed.
“The contract costing P1 Billion covers the construction of a 23.7-kilometer road with shoulder, six (6) bridges with total length of 214 lineal meters, 10 concrete box culvert, drainage, and slope protection. It is aimed for completion on January 2019,” the Public Works Department said.
