Palawan gov’t continues to promote proper family planning methods
The Provincial Government of Palawan has continued to promote proper family planning methods among Palaweños.
The Provincial Health Office is leading the program pursuant to the Republic Act 10354 or the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Law of 2012
Among the Family Planning methods shared by the PHO were Long-Acting and Permanent Family Planning Methods and Artificial Family Planning Methods for Birth Spacing.
Mimie Torres, Nurse II and program manager of the Reproductive Health, said that 127 residents from Rizal towm benefited from the Long-Acting and Permanent Family Planning Methods through Progestin Subdermal Implants (PSI) they offered last Jan. 23.
Included were midwives and Barangay Health Workers (BHW) to broaden their knowledge on reproductive health.
Torres also said that the program was led by the Roots of Health, a nongovernmental organization based in Palawan, that aims for a responsible parenthood and family planning.
The Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Law of 2012 (RH Law) aims, among others, to promote proper family planning methods among Filipinos.
