Flesh it out! Sen. Chiz Escudero wants more meat on federalism proposals

The vocal advocates of federalism can’t just push for the concept without giving details as to what form it would actually take in the Philippines, according to Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero.

On Facebook, Escudero said he’s not convinced about the proposal because those that have come up so far lacked substance.

He noted that there are several federalism models, such as the ones prevailing on the United States and Malaysia. He also wants to see whether the proposed model would be apt for the Philippines.

Crucial details like these must come first before any move to amend the Philippine constitution, he said.

After all, as they say, the devil is in the details.
