CamSur Gov. Villafuerte: No sailing policy still in effect
Camarines Sur Governor Miguel Villafuerte reminded that the no sailing policy remains in effect amid rains that is expected to be experience by the province.
According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, the province will experience “[c]loudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to Tail-End of a Cold Front will prevail over Bicol Region.”
The province experienced localized thunderstorms starting Thursday night which prompted the provincial government to order mandatory evacuation for families residing in flood and landslide prone areas.
The province also ordered no-sailing policy yesterday.
“We reiterate that No Sailing Policy is still in effect,” Gov. Villafuerte announced today.
Villafuerte also chairs the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council
PAGASA’s 24-hour rainfall forecast showed that the CamSur will continue to experience “light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.”
“Concerned LDRRMC and people living near the mountain slopes & low lying areas at the rivers & its tributaries particularly at Lower Kilbay Catabangan, Ragay, Tinalmud, Tambang & Lagonoy are advised to take necessary precautionary measures,” the PDRRMC said.
