Oriental Mindoro recognizes 22-year-old teacher for his public service
22-year-old educator Julius Christopher Gonzales has been recognized by the provincial government of Oriental Mindoro for his accomplishments and contribution to the society.
Gonzales, a native of Calapan, bagged the 2017 Gintong Kabataan Award for Leadership/Civic and Public Service from the Provincial Government Of Oriental Mindoro as part of the province’s 67th founding anniversary.
“Layunin nito na bigyang halaga ang mga natatanging kabataan sa buong lalawigan ng Oriental Mindoro ayon sa kanilang ipinamuhay at kalinisan ng pagkatao. Pagkilala rin ito sa kanilang matagumpay at makabuluhang mga nagawa, na magsisilbing inspirasyon at huwaran sa mga Mindoreño, partikular sa mga kabataan,” according to the statement of Calapan City government.
Gonzales currently teaches statistics and media and information literacy to Senior High School students at the Nag-iba National High School.
Gonzales was a City Government Scholar at CHED – Gender & Development Scholar, member of Rotarian of Rotary Club of Calapan District 3820, Former President of Student Parliament of CCC (2013-2014), Former VP of Fedaration of Anak Calapeño, Former President of Federation of Student Council in the City of Calapan, Member – Provincial Youth Development Council, Alumni – OMYLC, Alumni – Literacy Volunteer Society, Member, Keep Home Alive (TAYO Awardee), Member – Young Southeast Asian Leadership Initiative.
He waa also a former SK Councilor at Acting Youth Coord.
Gonzales took home plaque of Recognition and cash prize amounting tl P20,000.
