Beneficiaries from Taytay, Palawan set to receive seaweed seedlings by end-November
The provincial government of Palawan is set to distribute seaweed seedlings to the beneficiaries from Taytay town by the end of the month.
The province’s Livelihood Management Unit will spearhead the distribution particularly to the sitio Amogues, Barangay Calawag.
“Isa sa mga batayan sa pagpili natin ng isang benepisyaryo ay ang pagkakaroon ng isang malinis at magandang karagatan sa kanilang lugar,” Myrna O. Lacanilao, chief of the Livelihood Management Unit, said.
The group will be distributing 4 tons of seaweed propagules to the beneficiaries. The said distribution is in partnership with Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)-Palawan.
Lacanilao said that seaweed propagules being cultivated in the province can be found in seaweed nurseries in El Nido? Taytay, Dumaran and Araceli.
“Hangad din ng kanilang tanggapan na maglagay ng karagdagang seaweed nurseries sa iba pang munisipyo ng Palawan,” the provincial government said.
