Not fighting against the government! Odiongan Mayor Fabic leads candle lighting for Martial Law victims

Sep 22, 2017 @ 9:14

Anti-martial law but not Anti-Duterte?

Saying the move is not against the current administration, Odiongan Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic invited his constituents to join them in lighting candles for victims of human rights violation during the Martial regime.

The candle vigil was held around 5pm Thursday at the Children’s park and playground in front of the Odiongan Town Hall.

In her Facebook post, the mayor clarified that the ceremony serves only to commemorate the victims of the Martial Law.

“Even President Duterte mentioned in his executive order there have been human rights violations during the Martial Law that’s why there’s no work during the National Day of protest,” she said in the vernacular.
She ended her post with the hashtags #NationalDayofProtest #NeverAgain #NeverForget.
