May liwanag ang buhay! Boac empowered with its new diesel-fired power plant

More power for Boac province!

Flanked by two Moriones or Marinduque’s own version of Roman soliders, Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, Marinduque Governor Carmencita Reyes and other officials inaugurated Brgy Bantad’s new diesel-fired power plant last Friday.

The Boac diesel power plant in Boac, Palawan has five modular generating units with a capacity of 1 megawatt each to serve as a stable energy source of Brgy Bantad, and an additional energy supply for the Marinduquenos, Cusi said.

“This is a prelude to our vision of total electrification for all our rural areas nationwide,” he added.

Reyes, Marinduque Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MARELCO) General Manager Gaudencio Sol and the MARELCO Board of Directors welcomed Cusi, NAPOCOR President Pio Benavidez, House of Representatives Deputy Speaker Pido Garbin and the Chair of the House Committee on Energy Congressman Lord Allan Velasco during the inauguration in Palawan.

Equally powerful during the photo-opp was Reyes who stood out in her red-violet blazers, red-violet skirts and, yes, red-violet doll shoes. We feel you, Gov. Rawr!
