Wala nang takas! Aguirre starts probe into Catanduanes gov Joseph Cua’s drug links

Jul 28, 2017 @ 14:08

Justice Secretary Vitaliano Agurre II has ordered an investigation into the alleged involvement of Catanduanes Governor Joseph Cua in the illegal drug trade.

Broadcaster Ramon Tulfo said Virac Mayor Samuel Laynes is also included in the probe regarding the large-scale manufacture of shabu in Catanduanes.

“If the accusation against them, which is backed by records at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, is true, they are much worse than Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa and his son, Kerwin,” Tulfo said in his July 25 column for the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) chairman Dionisio Santiago has confirmed Cua’s involvement in the illegal drug trade in the Bicol region.

Santiago said President Rodrigo Duterte knows about Cua’s drug links.

“I think alam niya eh, dahil na-mention niya na… nabanggit niya specifically si Governor Cua kaya naman malakas loob kong bumanggit dahil nabanggit na rin ni Presidente yan,” he said at a recent press conference.
