Did Tallado blame Pimentel for slashed senior citizens’ budget? You decide
Did Camarines Norte Governor Edgar Tallado just throw shade at his own party mate, Vice Governor Jonah Pimentel?
This, after Tallado whined regarding the reduction of his supposed fund for the province’s senior citizens.
According to a Brigada News FM Daet report Wednesday (June 7), Tallado, in a town hall-style meeting in Barangay Gabon, Talisay, said that his P20-million fund for seniors had been slashed in half during the months that he was removed the Capitol.
It can be recalled that Tallado was dismissed in October 2016 due to cases of Grave Abuse of Authority, Grave Misconduct and Gross Neglect of Duty that were filed against him by four former Provincial Capitol employees whom he sacked.
The person who called the shots in the province when he was gone? The duly-elected vice governor, Pimentel, who was elevated to the position of governor.
However, Pimentel ended up merely warming his ally Tallado’s seat as the latter would be permitted by the Court of Appeals (CA) to return to the Capitol in December 2016.
For his part, Pimentel has previously said that he would rather vie for a Congressional seat in 2019 than run for governor.
Tallado is believed to be grooming his unico hijo Alvin for the gubernatorial post in 2019. #
