Right up Bichara’s alley: Albay capital strengthens ties with USAID
Legazpi City in Albay recently became the seventh city to join the Cities Development Initiative of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara expressed his support behind the move, which was made official through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing last Wednesday (May 17).
Affixing their signatures to the MOU were Legazpi Mayor Noel Rosal and USAID Mission Director Dr. Susan Brems.
“The goal of this agreement is to strengthen economic competitiveness and resilience of cities outside Metro Manila in order to develop its full potential as engines of inclusive economic growth,” read a post on Bichara’s Facebook.
In his statement regarding the event, the governor said that he encourages effective and well-planned projects that would greatly benefit the people not only in Legazpi City but also those in the neighboring localities.
Legazpi is the capital of Albay, arguably the most progressive province in Bicol.
