Mali eh: CamNorte Councilor Bandelaria tells colleagues to put foot down on Prime Water

May 19, 2017 @ 11:50

Councilor Marlon Bandelaria is prodding his fellow Provincial Council members to retackle the Camarines Norte Water District’s (CNWD) move of entering into a joint venture agreement (JVA) with Prime Water.

This was bared in a Brigada News FM Daet report Thursday (May 18) after member-consumers raised complaints in connection with the JVA, which is reportedly meant to privatize the CNWD in Daet.

Among these complaints is the imposition of value-added tax (VAT) despite the lack of improvement in services contrary to what had been promised by Prime Water.

Earlier, Bandelaria delivered a privilege speech assailing Prime Water over the company’s enforcement of VAT.

It was learned that the water utility earlier vowed to impose the VAT only after reaching a certain water pressure level that would serve its consumers better.

The complaints regarding Prime Water has already reached the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA).
