Para sa mahihirap! CamNorte scholarship program gets P20.5-M funding

Some P20.5 million have been earmarked by the Provincial Government of Camarines Norte under Governor Edgardo Tallado for its Education Scholarship Program this year.

A Brigada News FM Daet report Saturday (April 1) revealed that under the program, student-beneficiaries will be provided with a P5,000 education assistance per semester during their stint in college.

Only poor yet deserving and qualified students will be accepted into the scholarship program, which was approved by the Provincial Council headed by Vice Governor Jonah Pimentel.

Deemed candidates for qualification under the program are those who have finished high school for years but haven’t enrolled in college, those who have begun college education but stopped due to financial reasons, those who have passed the ALS Accreditation & Equivalency (A&E) Test, the child of a PWD parent or guardian, or those who are currently in college but are not the beneficiaries of any government scholarship program.

Applicants for the Provincial Government’s Education Scholarship Program need to pass the following documents to the Governors Office under the Community Affairs Office:

-an application letter addressed to Governor Tallado as the CNPGCEAP Chairman
-report card (for incoming college freshmen)
-certificate of grades (COG) and parents’ Income Tax Return (ITR) that is not higher than P120,000 per year/ Certificate of Indigency from their Barangay or MSWDO (for those already in college)

The actual applicant should be the one to submit the documents since he or she will be asked to take the CNPGCEAP computerized qualifying exam upon passage of preliminary evaluation.
