CamSur councilman who yielded P1M shabu coughs up drugs again, this time in jail
A jailed Barangay councilman from Iriga, Camarines Sur placed himself in deeper trouble after he was found in possession of “shabu” packets during a shakedown inside his cell.
The thing is, suspect Alan Alanis was detained in the first place because of keeping a much larger amount of the illegal drug.
A Brigada FM News Naga report Tuesday (March 28) bared that Kagawad Alanis yielded four plastic sachets of shabu during the local police’s conduct of “Oplan Galugad” at the Iriga City District Jail.
The same report said that last month, some 150 grams of shabu with a street value of P1 million was seized by authorities from the village politiko. Alanis landed in jail as a result.
Supt. Alex Pederio, Iriga City Police Station chief, said that the illegal drugs and paraphernalia seized from prisoners during Oplan Galugad were somehow whisked from outside the district jail.
Incidentally, President Rodrigo Duterte is batting for the re-postponement of the scheduled Barangay elections this October.
The reason? He estimates that a whopping 40 percent of Barangay officials in the country are involved with illegal drugs, and thus must be dealt with first.
