Mayor Ascutia’s dream Labo Central Terminal finally open
Labo, Camarines Norte Mayor Joseph Ascutia recently led the inauguration of the 7,000-square meter Labo Central Terminal Purok 2, Barangay Masalong in the said town.
Built to the time of P50 million, the huge terminal is the local government’s answer to the perennial traffic problem in Labo, a Camarines Norte News report bared.
Ascutia said that the terminal was designed to be used by practically all public utility vehicles (PUVs) plying the town’s roads. These includes buses, jeepneys, vans and multi-cabs.
As for tricycles, the politiko said that there is a separate queue for them.
The mayor is confident that traffic especially at the heart of Labo won’t be as bad since PUVs now have a place to load passengers.
Among the amenities of the Labo Central Terminal are clean and functioning washrooms, comfortable chairs and even televisions.
For added security the vicinity is monitored by closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras.
Also attending the inauguration last week were officials of the provincial capitol headed by Governor Edgar Tallado.
